Kelton and Ashten had an intimate camp wedding in the mountains of Maine with adventurous portraits and DIY details.
Kelton and Ashten met their Freshman year of college on the track team. Fitness, nature, and adventure is such an integral part of their relationship. They spend their weekends hiking and exploring around New England. A few years ago Kelton converted an old Chevy van, and they road-tripped around The States and Canada in it. Kelton proposed on the road trip at Peyto Lake with a turquoise ring that mirrored the turquoise lake.
They got ready in cabins and had an intimate round ceremony in the middle of the woods. For portraits we took that same van from the road trip and proposal up a mountain. On our way down, Ashten spotted a stream- we pulled over, took our shoes off and climbed in for more portraits.
Every part of Ashten and Kelton's wedding day was touched by family and friends. The venue was the old boys camp Kelton went to as child, the flowers were from Kelton's dad's garden, Ashten made her veil with her mom, their dog; Jasper was the ring bearer, the cake and the cookies were made by Ashten's aunt, a family friend catered, Kelton's sister (and my friend!) Addie did the invitations and details, Ashten's friend from college did her make up, Kelton's other sister, Kahryn, did the bridesmaids hair (and played the violin during the ceremony!), and I have known Kelton since I was 11. He is a friend of my brother's. Kelton's mom was my cross country running coach, his dad was my health class teacher, and his sister Addie, a good friend and teammate of mine. I was so honored (and excited!) to be a part of the day.
The biggest thank you to Ashten and Kelton for having me as a part of your day! And thank you to the vendors who made the day possible!
